How is energy data allocated across brands producing in the same factory?

We use the factory's energy mix to build a factory-specific emission factor. We then combine this with our data on the typical energy consumption of each manufacturing process and multiply the two to calculate the emissions for each production step. This means the brand gets accurate, consistent product footprints, without needing machine-level data from the factory.

If you do not provide energy data, we will apply conservative country-level estimates for your electricity and heat consumption, which may lead to an overestimation of your factory’s emissions.
