Carbonfact treats factory energy data as confidential by default. Two levels of sharing apply:

• Shared with your brand customers: your energy mix, renewable share, and total values. By submitting your data, you agree to share it with your brand customers who use Carbonfact for environmental reporting. Brands use it solely for environmental measurement and carbon accounting, and it is not visible to anyone else.
• Shared publicly: the types of renewable energy you use (e.g. solar, biomass). These are publicly listed on Open Supply Hub and on your Carbonfact Suppliers factory page, so buyers can see your renewable credentials. Your total consumption values are never published.

Sharing environmental data via Carbonfact for Suppliers is more secure than sending it to brands by email, because nothing travels as an attachment and you can revoke access at any time. Your data is hosted securely on Carbonfact’s infrastructure and protected under Carbonfact’s standard data security and confidentiality safeguards.
