What Our Customers Say
“We chose Carbonfact for a couple of reasons. One is compliance. So, being able to manage our data efficiently to prepare for upcoming regulations like the Digital Product Passport. The other was automation. We wanted to be able to efficiently measure the product carbon footprint across our soft goods line, but we have a huge breadth of SKUs, so we simply didn't have the bandwidth within our to conduct LCA on each individual product manually."

How Carbonfact Works
We’ll ingest all your existing product and supply chain data. Whether it lives in a PLM, ERP, Excel Sheet or a combination thereof, we’ll consolidate and clean it. We’ll do all the heavy lifting too – we can build a custom connector that integrates with your existing systems, automating future data import and creating a live connection to Carbonfact.
Incomplete data? Not a problem – we’ll find and fill any data gaps. Our smart data engine - trained on extensive primary datasets - automatically fills in missing details such as component weights, dtex, and process-level steps.
Once your data is processed, our LCA engine automatically calculates the footprints for each of your products on an SKU level. Directly view the product footprint or break it down by any of the 16 PEFCR indicators.
Carbonfact helps you identify emission hotspots and smartly prioritize your supplier data collection. By providing you with a concrete list of data points to gather from your suppliers, we save your team weeks of time and effort.
Publish your Digital Product Passports with a few clicks, directly embed them into your website, or create QR codes and share them directly with your label providers. With Carbonfact, you measure once and can report everywhere. Easily create dashboards and reports for other regulations and reporting frameworks (e.g., CSRS, GHG Protocol, CDP, SBTi).
Dive into your data with our analytics dashboards and simulate changes using our Eco Design solution. Model changes across components, materials, process steps, and transport at the product and catalog levels.

Frequently Asked Questions
How is Carbonfact’s DPP different from other DPP solutions?
Most DPP solutions focus on showing information. Carbonfact focuses on getting the data right first.
Carbonfact DPPs are generated from product LCAs that follow recognized methodologies like PEF, with clear assumptions and an audit trail. This makes the data defensible, not just presentable.
Carbonfact is built for the fashion supply chain, including multi-material products, multiple suppliers, variants, and incomplete data, all handled at scale.
The DPP is not a standalone layer. The same data can be reused for CSRD, Scope 3 reporting, Eco-Score, eco-design, and decarbonization. Find more information about our sustainability reporting software for fashion here.
You can use Carbonfact as a full DPP solution, or as the environmental data engine feeding another DPP or traceability platform.
What does Carbonfact’s DPP include today?
Carbonfact’s DPP is built from the product data and LCAs already managed in the platform.
It typically includes:
-
Product and material information
-
Manufacturing steps and locations (at the level you choose)
-
Environmental impact results from LCAs
-
Supporting information, like certifications, when available

How does Carbonfact’s DPP actually look?
The DPP is a mobile-friendly web page that opens when someone scans a QR code or clicks a link. It’s designed to be clear, scannable, and easy to understand — not a long technical report. See an example for a DPP for a T-Shirt here.
Is Carbonfact a full solution for DPP?
Yes. Carbonfact can be used as a complete DPP solution, from data and LCAs to publishing pages and QR codes.
Some brands also choose to use Carbonfact as the LCA and data engine while keeping another front-end or traceability tool. Both setups work.
What tech setup do we need to use DPP with Carbonfact?
You don’t need a heavy IT project.
Most brands either:
- Use Carbonfact-hosted DPP pages, or
- Embed the DPP on product pages with a small snippet of code
Can we put the DPP on our own website?
Yes.
You can embed the DPP on product pages, open it in a widget, or link to it from your site.
A common setup is using a brand-owned URL that redirects to a Carbonfact-hosted DPP page. This keeps links stable over time while giving brands control.
Should we start now, even if the requirements are not fully finalized?
Yes. The hardest part of DPP is not the QR code, it’s getting product data and LCAs in place. Starting now means you won’t be rushing later when deadlines are known.
Where are DPP URLs hosted — on Carbonfact or our domain?
Both options are possible. A common setup is using a brand-owned URL that redirects to a Carbonfact-hosted DPP page. This keeps links stable over time while giving brands control.
Our products go off-market. How do we keep DPPs accessible for years?
This is a common concern. The key is using stable URLs that live beyond product seasons. Carbonfact-hosted pages or redirect-based setups are typically used to ensure long-term access.
Can we generate QR codes before all product data is finalized?
Yes — and many brands do this. You can generate URLs and QR codes early for printing, then enrich the DPP content over time as supplier and product data becomes available.
How do we share DPP links with label makers or RFID providers?
Carbonfact can export DPP URLs in bulk (for example, via CSV/Excel), mapping products or SKUs to links. Automation options are also possible depending on your setup.
Can Carbonfact send data to another DPP or traceability provider?
Yes. Carbonfact can act as the LCA and impact data engine while feeding another DPP or traceability experience (for example, Retraced or similar tools).
Is the DPP per SKU, per style, or per variant? business team?
There is no final regulatory rule yet. Today, Carbonfact typically supports SKU or variant-level DPPs, and we align the setup with how products are actually managed.
What is a Digital Product Passport (DPP)?
A Digital Product Passport is a digital record of a product that can be accessed via a QR code or link. It’s meant to make key product information — like materials, manufacturing, and environmental impact — easy to access in a standard format. Read our deep dive into the DPP for textiles.
When does DPP for textiles become mandatory?
The detailed rules are still being finalized at EU level. The delegated act is expected in 2026, with enforcement likely starting around 2028. Find more details in our DPP article.
