August ’26 Product Release: Factory Energy Data From the Carbonfact Suppliers Network

The Carbonfact Suppliers Network is a fast and secure way for brands, factories, and innovative suppliers to exchange environmental data.

Instead of each brand requesting data separately, suppliers manage their information in one place and control access, and the same data can be reused without any additional work. The platform is free for both brands and suppliers.

It’s designed for two purposes:

1. Factory energy data exchange	2. Innovative materials/processes discovery
Factories centrally share energy and heat data, which flows directly into your LCAs on your Carbonfact platform. When two brands share a factory, the data only needs to be collected once. Announcing: Factory Energy Data Exchange

Factories in the network share their electricity and heat consumption, by source and per year. When a factory or supplier shares data on Carbonfact, that data does not need to be requested and processed separately by every brand working with that factory. If multiple brands use the same factory or material supplier, energy data is shared between brands, reducing work for everyone.

This enables a form of collective sustainability data intelligence: less duplication, faster access to primary data, and a common foundation for impact measurement and decarbonization – while keeping full confidentiality.

Factory Energy Data flows directly into your platform

With this release, the network is built into the Factories page in Carbonfact. Carbonfact compares your factories against similar factories in the Suppliers Network and suggests matches. Open a suggestion, compare it side by side with your own factory, and confirm – the factory is now linked.

Once a factory is linked and shares its data, that data feeds your LCA calculations directly, replacing secondary data with the factory’s actual energy mix. Every number is labeled with its source and links back to the factory profile it came from.

Energy bills you upload yourself always take priority over network data – nothing changes about how you work today.

Invite your factories directly from the platform

Getting primary energy data from factories usually means running a time-intensive data collection campaign. And because several brands often produce at the same factory, that factory receives the same questions from each of them, in different formats. The result is survey fatigue on the factory side and slow responses on the brand side.

The Carbonfact Suppliers Network takes a collective approach: factories share their energy data once, and every brand they work with can use it. Participation is free for brands and factories – which is a big part of why factories respond.

Not every linked factory has shared its data yet. If the data exists on the network, a data sharing request goes to the factory, and the factory approves it. If a factory has no data yet – or isn’t on the network at all – invite it: add the address and an email contact, and Carbonfact drafts the introduction for you. After that, we take it from there. We reach out, follow up, chase the factory and help the factory enter its data in whatever format they have. When they do, it lands in your account automatically.

This data collection program is completely free.

Contribute your already-collected energy data to the network

The Carbonfact Suppliers Network is a collective data exchange program, where everyone contributes data and benefits from data that has already been collected.

If you already have collected energy data for a factory, it will be automatically shared with the network after the factory has been linked.

Nothing is shared without the factory’s confirmation, and no one can see which factories you work with.

Confidentiality is fully preserved:

• Brands do not see which other brands are using the same factory or supplier
• Suppliers remain in control of who can see their data
• Data is shared only with approval of the factory

The result is a significant time saving for both brands and suppliers, without compromising data ownership or confidentiality.

Why this matters

Supplier data collection is one of the biggest time sinks for sustainability teams – and the part they control least, because no brand can go faster than its suppliers. With this release, a factory answers once, for all its brands, and coverage grows as the network fills in – including factories beyond your direct relationships.
