This month, we're launching a suite of impactful features designed to enhance how your teams manage environmental data across multiple brands, communicate transparently and in accordance with the new PEF 3.1v update, and increased control over primary data.

Launched now are:

  • Multibrand Management: Seamlessly manage, report, and control environmental data across multiple brands within a single Carbonfact account.
  • DPP 2.0: Enhanced Digital Product Passports with PEF’s expanded 16 environmental indicators, mass export capabilities, and improved customization.
  • More Rules to enrich your data: Additional Enrichment Rules allowing direct, detailed adjustments to primary product data for greater accuracy and control.

Multibrand Management

Multibrand Management

Nearly a third of our customers operate multiple brands under a single corporate umbrella, each with distinct sustainability requirements. Our new Multibrand Management functionality addresses this complexity directly by:

  • Allowing seamless toggling between multiple brands within a single Carbonfact account.
  • Providing distinct brand-level data visibility and reporting capabilities.
  • Ensuring tailored user access and permissions specific to each brand.

This upgrade streamlines operations, enhances data accuracy, and supports detailed sustainability insights at both brand and group levels.

Digital Product Passport (DPP) 2.0

DPP (5)

Building upon the success of our initial DPP release, version 2.0 introduces critical enhancements requested by our customers:

  • Mass Export Capability: Easily export Digital Product Passport links across your entire product range.

  • Expanded Information Display: Clearly showcase detailed product compositions, care instructions, and brand-specific narratives through dedicated tabs.

  • 16 Key Environmental Indicators: Improve transparency and avoid Green Claims by aligning your product’s environmental footprint with the PEF framework.

  • Enhanced Customization: Easily manage brand visuals, including logos and custom brand messaging, directly through the platform.

DPP 2.0 significantly boosts your ability to communicate a product’s full environmental footprint effectively, meeting both regulatory expectations through PEF compliance, as well as rising consumer demands for transparency.

Expanded Rules to Enrich Your Data

Expanded Rules to Enrich your Data

To further empower teams, we've extended our Rules feature, allowing greater flexibility and control over your own data enrichment:

  • BOM & Composition Attachment: Quickly resolve data gaps by linking products to existing Bills of Materials or compositions.

  • Process Step Updates: Adjust manufacturing details (such as dyeing or finishing) across product categories effortlessly.

  • Factory Assignments: Clearly specify which factories handle specific production steps, reinforcing accurate traceability.

  • Material Normalization: Simplify management by standardizing ambiguous or incorrect raw material data directly on the platform.

Why it Matters

Managing environmental data is complex, and it won’t get any simpler any time soon. We’ve built these updates for companies overseeing multiple brands, brands who want to communicate about their sustainability efforts with the Green Claims directive in mind, and to increase flexibility and control over your own data.

These new and updated features will help you save considerable time, reduce manual processes, and improve the precision of your environmental data – a process we’re happy to guide you through.

Coming up soon: PEF update

With the final version of the Product Environmental Footprint Category Rules (PEFCR) now officially released for apparel and footwear, we're actively integrating its key features into Carbonfact. This update will enable your teams to easily display the complete breakdown of PEF’s 16 impact indicators, adjust product footprints based on the functional unit per use, and include PEFCR’s default durability and repairability factors directly into your environmental calculations.

These enhancements will further support your compliance with EU sustainability standards by visually displaying the impact of a product across all 16 PEF environmental indicators in one glance. Stay tuned for the full announcement in a few weeks!
